DAN School Winter Major Production: Mr. Burns, a post-electric play
The DAN School of Drama and Music presents Mr. Burns, a post-electricplay by Anne Washburn. Directed by Professor Kelsey Jacobson, with Music Director Darrell Bryan, and our talented team of over 80 students.
Mr. Burns, a post-electric playcombines The Simpsons, the apocalypse, and theatre history, questioning what stories will survive the end of the world. The play combines realism, theatricality, and high art in three separate acts that take place “tomorrow,” seven years later, and seventy-five years after a nuclear explosion has destroyed society and all electricity. It re-boots theatre history – moving from telling stories around a fire to travelling performance troupes to highly stylized music theatre.

(*A relaxed performance is a version of the show that has been slightly altered to be accessible to audience members with sensory sensitivities and disabilities.
