Congratulations on your student’s admission to Queen’s University!
We understand the important role you’ve played as a parent or supporter in preparing your student to attend university, and we want to work with you to continue to support them on this new adventure. That’s why we have First-Year Foundation – programming that starts this summer and gives your student online and in-person opportunities to build their community, support their transition, and find their path to success for their first year. As parents and supporters, we also have resources specific for you integrated throughout First-Year Foundation.
Check out how you can support your student this summer:
- Register your student and yourself for Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources (SOAR) one-day on-campus experience. Registration opens in June and SOAR runs July 7-10 and 15-16. SOAR offers opportunities for parents and supporters to receive specific resources and information on how to support your student transitioning to university.
- Attend our webinars with your student. These webinars start the end of June and will be ongoing throughout the summer. Together with your student, learn about various processes and deadlines, and get answers to your questions.
- Ensure your student is taking advantage of all the First-Year Foundation opportunities, including the digital community platform Raftr, onQ online course, QSuccess first year mentorship program, and University Orientation.
