Adam is currently pursing his Masters at Shastri Lab. He completed his BASc in the Engineering Physics program at Queen’s University. He is interested in studying how neuromorphic computing can be implemented using silicon photonics to solve differential equations. In his time off he enjoys reading, running, playing sports, and travelling.

Greg is in his fourth year of a BSc majoring in Physics. His research interests include quantum computing, neural networks and silicon photonics. He also enjoys playing sports such as golf, hockey and volleyball.  He is currently a member of the Queen’s Men’s Varsity Volleyball team.

Yash is in the 4th year of BSc in Physics. Her thesis on "Chaos-based secure communication with silicon photonics neural networks. Her research interests are in AI and its implications in daily life, quantum dot solar cell, and applications of nanotechnology in medicine. Her hobbies include sketching, programming, and hiking.

Ryan is currently in his fourth year of Engineering Physics at Queen’s University, specializing in electronics. His research interests include optical devices and semiconductor physics. Ryan is a consultant and project manager at Queen’s University Business & Engineering (QUBE), where he provides business strategy services to clients. His other hobbies include martial arts, reading, and music.

Jacob is currently exploring the design of Quantum Optical Neural Networks for potential applications throughout the subfields of quantum information science. In general, he is fascinated by quantum mechanics and wishes to exploit its principles in the design of future technologies that yield positive impacts for society. Jacob is a driven, detail-oriented individual who wishes to one day aid in the growth of others through teaching. Before he found physics, Jacob was a successful child actor having voiced main characters in many cartoons including Catboy in PJ Masks. He maintains an interest in the film industry, enjoys snowboarding, and is an avid fan of the Toronto Raptors.

Ahmed is an M.A.Sc. student at Queen's University. In 2018, he obtained his B.A.Sc. degree from the ECE department, faculty of engineering, Ain Shams University with a focus on Optics and Electromagnetics. He joined Si-Ware Systems in 2018, a Cairo based startup working on the world's smallest FTIR spectrometer, and worked on MEMS sensors development, optical coupling solutions and optical signal processing. He is currently interested in silicon photonics and photonic integrated circuits. In his free time, he likes to relax by watching movies and playing video games.

Marcus is pursuing a Ph.D. at Queen’s University. His B.A.Sc is in Engineering Physics with a Nanotechnology specialization, Mathematics minor, and Co-op option at the University of Alberta. He is interested in neuromorphic systems, quantum neural networks, atomic-scale devices, and nanofabrication. His hobbies include playing board games, video games, and 3D printing.

Jagmeet is a graduate student at Queen's University. He received the BS-MS dual degree from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, India with a major in Physics (2019). He previously worked on a classification problem using deep learning techniques in Belle II collaboration, Japan. He is interested in building new computer architectures using photonics, particularly neuromorphic computing that has application in deep learning problems. His research interests include AI, machine learning and cloud computing. In his spare time, he likes programming, reading history, listening to Punjabi folk music and playing basketball.

Zhimu is a Ph.D. student after accelerating into M.A.Sc from his B.A.Sc. in Engineering Physics, Computing option at Queen's University. Zhimu has a strong interest in working at the junction of the hardware and software for computer systems. He is also looking forward to exploring new technologies in the quantum computing realm, including integrated neuromorphic photonic processors for deep learning.
