The Queen's Positive Space Program

Celebrating Sexual and Gender Diversity at Queen's since 1999

The purpose of the Positive Space Program is to encourage the celebration of sexual and gender diversity at Queen's, so that all members of the Queen's community are affirmed and supported. Participants (students, faculty, staff) post Positive Space stickers in their work, living, or study areas to encourage such celebration. They seek to overcome both overt and subtle forms of discrimination and harassment, to avoid making assumptions about anyone's sexual orientation or gender identity, and to signal that all are welcome.

Positive Space Information Sessions

To become a participant and post a sticker, you need to first attend a Positive Space Information Session. To reserve a place in one of our open sessions, email us at posspace@queensu.ca and tell us which session you will be attending:

Three sessions will be offered in November:
1. Tuesday, November 6, 3:00 to 5:00
2. Wednesday, November 14, 1:00-3:00
3. Thursday, November 22, 3:00 to 5:00
You can also arrange to have a session presented especially for your group. You will need to provide the space, including computer and projector for a PowerPoint. To arrange a session for your group, to learn more about Positive Space, or to become involved in the program's delivery, please e-mail us at posspace@queensu.ca
Other sexual and gender diversity workshops are offered through the Queen's Human Rights and Equity Office. See  Queen's Equity Training
