Mission
The I.N.F.A.N.T. Lab (Infant Neurodevelopment, Feeding Advances, and New Technologies) is committed to optimizing the quality of life for infants born with complex medical conditions and their families through stimulating outstanding research and education.
Focus
Infants born with complex medical conditions are at high risk of developing neurodevelopmental disorders affecting their ability to participate in age-appropriate activities. These infants are at risk for neurodevelopmental disorders due to biological and environmental factors. The focus of the I.N.F.A.N.T. Lab is on the biological developmental process and how this process can be modified by environmental factors. The research program is based on the notion that early detection of neurodevelopmental disorders, family-integrated interventions, and health service delivery are all equally important foundational components towards optimizing outcomes for infants with complex medical conditions. The I.N.F.A.N.T. Lab focuses on clinical and translational research in these three foundational components to promote infant and family outcomes.
