The DEVS DSC is the undergraduate student council for the Queen’s University Global Development Studies Department. We are a growing team of volunteers from the Global Development undergraduate program aiming to create a highly connected DEVS community. As well as creating social connections within the DEVS community, we are a resource for academic support for DEVS students. The DEVS DSC acts as a liaison between undergraduate students, faculty, and student government.
Our team meets weekly to plan and conceptualize both social and academic events for the department, which includes meeting professors, study sessions, social events, an annual conference, and much more! We also facilitate connection within the DEVS community through our mentorship program, where we connect first years with upper year mentors.
If you would like to get involved, or have something to bring to our attention, we invite you to contact us via email or social media!

Our annual DEVS DSC Conference is one of the highlights of the year! Our conference team is composed of four roles. Our speaker coordinator is in charge of finding speakers for our annual conference. Our logistics coordinator will plan the logistics for our annual conference, and the conference director oversees these positions to ensure the success of the conference. Lastly, our first year conference intern is responsible for assisting the team.
The DSC offers a wide range of events, services, and resources to help DEVS students on their undergraduate journey.
Events
Some of our past events have included: Tea with Profs, Study Sessions, Future in DEVS, Raffles, Giveaways, and more! This year we hope to create even more fun events to foster a sense of community within the DEVS program and to help students with any academic challenges!
