Senior System Engineer

Dr. Marzia Zaman received her MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada in 1993 and 1996, respectively. She started her career at Nortel Networks, Ottawa, Canada in 1996 where she joined the software engineering analysis lab (SEAL) and later joined the Optera Packet Core project at Nortel as software developer. In addition, she has many years of industry experience as a researcher and software designer in Accelight Networks, Excelocity, Sanstream Technology and Cistel Technology. Since 2009, she has been working closely with the Centre for Energy and Power Electronics Research at Queen's University, Canada and one of its industry collaborators,& Cistel Technology, on multiple power engineering projects. Her research interests include renewable energy, analog and digital control techniques for power converters, wireless communication, embedded systems, machine learning and software engineering.
