An on-campus flu clinic will help the Queen’s community prevent the spread of influenza by offering free vaccines. The flu shot helps reduce the risk of getting influenza – symptoms of which include headache, chills, cough, fever, muscle aches and fatigue, and throat irritation, among others. The free, one-day walk-in clinic is open to everyone, regardless of whether they hold an Ontario health card.

“I encourage the university community to take advantage of the on campus flu shot clinic that the University is running in partnership with the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addingston (KFL&A) Health Unit,” says Dan Langham, Director of Environmental Health and Safety. “The shot is an effective way of avoiding the flu, as it helps the body build the defenses it needs to fight it”

The flu shot clinic will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 10 am to 4pm in the New Medical Building at the corner of Arch and Stuart Streets. For information, contact Environmental Health and Safety at 613-533-2999.
