Flags on campus are lowered in memory of engineering professor emeritus David Turcke. 

Professor Turcke was born to the late John and Helen Turcke in Montreal, Quebec. Inclined towards academics, he garnered a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Upon completion of his doctorate, he moved to Kingston, Ontario to pursue a career as Professor of Engineering at Queen's until his retirement. After retiring as the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at Queen's, he ventured into restaurant ownership/partnership that saw the inception of Murray Street in Ottawa, Ontario. 

A gathering will be held for all to celebrate Dave's life on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at The Ivy, 61 Shipman's Lane (Thousand Islands Parkway), Gananoque. Arrangements in care of the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME - Township Chapel.
