Flags on campus are lowered in memory of Queen’s professor emeritus Wan-Tai Yen.

Dr. Yen served as a professor in the Faculty of Engineering’s Department of Mining, specializing in mineral processing and gold extraction.

A funeral service in celebration of Dr. Yen's life will be held in the Chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Thursday, August 15 at 1:30 pm, with cremation to follow.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm, and again after the service, in the reception centre. As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital Palliative Care) or the Kingston Chinese Alliance Church.
