The annual Health and Wellness Showcase at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) has a special focus this year on food and making healthy selections, hoping to provide the community with options and resources for better eating and lifestyle choices.

The Health and Wellness Showcase, being held in the ARC Main Gym Nov. 14, will focus on food and healthy eating. All are welcome to attend.

“We hope that through the exhibits, demos and giveaways, the showcase will encourage people to find a balance in their lives – not only through physical activity but also through healthy eating and wellness resources,” says Jayne Culbert, Manager, Recreation and Sport Clubs.

While past showcases have been aimed at Queen’s staff and faculty, this year’s event is directed at everyone in the Queen’s community, including students, and the greater Kingston community. Exhibitors at the event – which include Liquid Nutrition, Old Farm Fine Foods, Integrated Healthcare, DrugSmart Pharmacy and Trailhead – will be a mix of on-campus and community services.

The showcase is primarily an information-sharing event; exhibitors will not be selling anything but will offer interactive and informative displays, complete with demos, giveaways, food and product samples and door prizes.

The showcase will take place Thursday, Nov. 14, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the ARC Main Gym. Visit the Athletics and Recreation website for details and a full list of exhibitors.
