The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Local 901, Unit 2 and the university have three more dates for their ongoing contract negotiations for post doctoral fellows. The parties began conciliation meetings on September 5th. In conciliation, the parties are assisted by a provincially-appointed conciliation officer as they work through outstanding issues.

The conciliation officer has convened further meetings on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20 to continue the conciliation process.

The university administration respects the collective bargaining process and remains committed to working through it to reach a negotiated settlement.

Since April 2012 the university has been in collective bargaining with the PSAC working towards a first collective agreement with the post doctoral fellows. Discussions between the university and PSAC toward a first agreement have been positive to date.

Negotiations between the university and the Public Service Alliance of Canada Local 901, Unit 1 toward a second agreement for teaching assistants and teaching fellows are in the early stages. Negotiations continue with dates set for October 28 and 29.
