After setting a national fundraising record in 2025, Queen’s University students are already building momentum for the 2026 Relay for Life, set to take place on March 20, 2026.
Last year’s event raised more than $225,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society — the highest total in Queen’s history and the largest amount ever raised by a post-secondary Relay for Life in Canada. Organizers say that success has carried directly into this year’s planning.
Close to 500 participants are currently registered, putting the organizing team well ahead of schedule on recruitment. With strong participation secured early, the focus has shifted toward fundraising initiatives, including peer-to-peer campaigns, team challenges, and campus-wide activations aimed at surpassing last year’s record total.
Organizers say the early interest reflects sustained student leadership and a deep commitment to supporting cancer research and services that impact many Kingston families.
All three Co-Chairs, as well as members of the Recruitment Team are available for interviews to speak about the record-breaking success, current fundraising efforts, how the Kingston community can help, and what’s ahead for the March 2026 event. Photos from last year’s event are available upon request.
