Massive fires in Northern Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia are having a detrimental impact on those living in these areas as well as those thousands of kilometres away.
From whole communities being evacuated to health concerns and disruptions due to smoke-filled skies, and even straining cross-border relations, this year’s wildfire season is negatively affecting millions across North America.
Queen’s University’s Ed Struzik, one of Canada’s foremost wildfire experts, is available for interviews.
A fellow at the university’s Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy, Struzik can provide insights into the causes, response, expectations, and history of the destructive events, as well as views on the need for a national wildfire prevention strategy.
