For the fourth year in a row, a team of riders stopped at Queen’s University as part of the 7 Days in May, a seven day bike ride to help raise money for pancreatic cancer research – specifically PA.6, a clinical trial being conducted by the Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) at Queen’s. This clinical trial is targeted at significantly improving the survival odds of pancreatic cancer patients.

The 7 Days in May Foundation was created by Gord Townley in the memory of his mother Lorraine Townley. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2009, she was an advocate for others by participating in clinical trials. She lost her battle to pancreatic cancer in November 2011.

The group of 30 cyclists were greeted by a large group from CCTG, Queen's University and Kingston General Hospital.
