Incoming first-year students and their families and supports are getting an close-up view of Queen’s University through Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources (SOAR).

Hosted by the Student Experience Office, part of the Division of Student Affairs, SOAR introduces students to new academic expectations, tips to support the transition to university life, information about on-campus resources, and offers one-on-one consultations with campus chefs and accessibility services staff, campus and residence tours, and much more. Parents and supports also get advice to help them support their student’s move to Queen’s.

Parents and supports also get an introduction to university life, including programming to help them support their student’s move to Queen’s.

SOAR began July 6-9 for students in the Faculty of Arts and Science and those heading to the Bader International Study Centre this fall. It continues on July 14 and 15 for students in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as the Commerce and Nursing programs.

More that 2,200 people are expected to attend overall.

Students and guests can register for SOAR on the Student Experience Office website.
