Photo contest puts focus on research
September 11, 2015
The amazing research being done at Queen’s University is the focus of a new photo contest.
Recently, the Office of the Vice-Principal (Research) launched the Art of Research Photo Contest, calling on all faculty, staff and students to showcase their research, scholarly and artistic work. The contest offers cash prizes (First – $300, Second – $200, Third – $100, Honourable Mention – $50) and the chance to be featured in (e)AFFECT, the Queen’s research magazine.
“The competition is aimed at providing a creative and accessible method of sharing and celebrating the ground-breaking research being done by members of the Queen’s community,” says Melinda Knox, the co-managing editor of (e)AFFECT. “The subject matter is only limited by imagination -- from capturing a moment under the microscope in the lab, inspiration in the archives or an activity out in the community. We want people to think creatively.”
