Susan Mumm, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science

Queen’s University Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Alan Harrison announced today that Susan Mumm, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science, will leave the university as of June 30, 2016.

Dean Mumm has accepted the position of principal of Brescia University College in London, Ont.

“Susan has accomplished a great deal since taking up her appointment as dean in the summer of 2013 and she will be sorely missed,” says Provost Harrison. “Sorry though I am to lose Susan, I offer her my sincerest congratulations on her new role, which I know she will fill with considerable distinction.”

Dean Mumm, a professor of history and fellow of the Royal Historical Society, came to Queen’s from Massey University in New Zealand, where she was pro vice-chancellor of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She previously served as dean of Arts and Science at Mount Saint Vincent University.

Further information regarding plans for the appointment of a replacement for Dean Mumm will be forthcoming in January.
