Queen’s will begin a series of coordinated infrastructure upgrades on main campus in May 2026. The work—collectively known as Project Connect—includes four major projects spanning the area from Macintosh-Corry and Ellis halls in the north to Bader Lane in the south, and from University Avenue west to Watson Hall.

Scheduled for completion in summer 2027, these projects will address long-standing deferred maintenance, improve the reliability of steam services, and enhance accessibility to key buildings.

What to expect

Site mobilization begins May 1, 2026. Throughout the project, the campus community may experience:

  • Temporary changes to building access and pedestrian/vehicle routes
  • Intermittent noise, vibration, and odours
  • Occasional service interruptions

Project teams will work to minimize disruptions and schedule more intensive activities during off-peak hours where possible.
