Varsity student-athletes raise over $25,000 for Canadian Cancer Society

The Queen's Varsity Women's Soccer Team raised over $10,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The varsity season may have been cancelled but the spirit of giving continues with the Queen's Gaels.

Led by the Varsity Leadership Council (VLC), Gaels varsity student-athletes won the post-secondary award from the Canadian Cancer Society honouring their achievement for raising the most amount of donations this year.

Queen's varsity student-athletes raised $25,175 through virtual and physically distanced events this year. The Men's Rugby team led the way raising over $12,980 followed closely by Women's Soccer raising $10,178. 

The funds that Gaels varsity student-athletes raised will be invested into breast cancer research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment and care through the Canadian Cancer Society.
