Leadership Workshop Series

The Student Experience Office’s Leadership Workshop Series is a set of workshops designed to broader participant’s perspectives on leadership, have them develop and practice key leadership skills, and provide opportunities for students to connect with like-minded peers in the Queen’s community. 

Attend 4 workshops throughout the year and receive a signed Leadership Skills Certificate from the Student Experience Office!  
* Registration will be tracked at each workshop and attendees will receive their certificate via email after their fourth workshop is attended

Exploring Leadership 

What does leadership mean to you? How can individuals with different leadership styles work together to succeed? In this session, explore leadership as a practice, find out what type of leader you are, and hear what it takes to be a good leader.

Giving & Receiving Feedback 

Giving and receiving feedback means we can thoughtfully reflect on previous tasks and ways we can continue to improve. Although extremely important, there tends to be hesitation when it comes to feedback! This workshop will provide you with the skills needed to navigate giving feedback and how you can receive feedback in productive ways.

Events & Project Planning

Improve your event and project planning skills with our events and project planning workshop. Gain pivotal experience in designing and executing exceptional events and projects while mastering the art of timeline management, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination.

A Guide to Debriefing 

After completing a project or event, it’s always helpful to reflect and learn from your experience. What is debriefing, though? How is it beneficial? Why does it matter? Attend this session to learn how to lead effective debriefs with your team.

Conflict Resolution 

Learning to deal with conflict in a positive and constructive way is an important way to improve your well-being and relationships with your team. This workshop teaches you about conflict resolution and its usefulness in team settings. You will also participate in interactive scenarios to learn how to resolve conflicts effectively.

Facilitation Skills 

Join our interactive workshop on facilitation skills and discover how to lead effective group discussions, foster collaboration, and navigate challenging conversations with confidence. Gain practical tools and insights to become a skilled facilitator capable of guiding teams towards successful outcomes.

Resources & Referrals 

Being aware of resources at Queen’s and knowing how to make an effective referral is an important part of supporting your teammates and friends. This session cover how to identify when a referral is appropriate or necessary, and ways to connect others with the support they may need.

Effective Teamwork 

Fostering a healthy and collaborative team dynamic can be challenging. Attend this session to learn about the fundamentals of teamwork, ways to lead your peers, and what effective teamwork looks like using references from your favourite movies and TV shows.
