Why U-Flourish is important to Hazel:
Neuroscience and mental health have always been fascinating to me-- how we react to environment changes, how stress impacts day-to-day life, and how complicated emotional and chemical processes occur in the brain are (in my opinion) some of the most interesting mechanisms we can all relate to. As university students, these stressors and processes are heightened by the still-ongoing development in our brains as well as the complicated aspects of university life. I think it's crucial that mental health outreach like U-Flourish is readily available for university students especially now more than ever; and to be a part of said outreach is incredibly meaningful to me.
