BICYCLE
/ BIKE PARTS THEFT:
July 23, 2:00 pm: Botterell Hall - Campus Security was informed a
white DaVinci Tulsa bicycle was stolen from the bike racks outside.
THEFT
FROM A VEHICLE:
July 25, 4:30 pm: West Campus - The ERC was informed a vehicle parked
near the tennis courts had its license plates stolen. Parking staff were
informed and the vehicle owner was advised to also file a report with Kingston
City Police.
SUSPICIOUS
PERSONS / ACTIVITY:
July 24, 3:45 pm: Campus - A caller reported witnessing a suspicious
individual loitering around some bike racks on main campus. He was described
as a Caucasian male with a dark complexion, approximately 30 years old with a
thin build and straggly dark hair. Security searched the area but the suspect
was not located.
July 11, 10:35 am: JDUC - Campus Security received a report
that a man individual was inappropriately propositioned by another man while
inside the building's lower level washroom. Security staff attended and
searched the JDUC and surrounding areas but did not locate the suspect.
BICYCLE
/ BIKE PARTS THEFT:
July 22, 10:14 am: Stirling Hall - A caller reported the front tire and
speedometer were stolen off his bike while it was secured to the bike racks
outside the building.
July 22, 9:00 am: Stauffer Library - A caller reported his
bicycle was stolen the previous day while secured to the racks outside the
library. It is a yellow Bianchi Brava bike with chrome front forks and
blue rear-mounted saddle bags.
July 6, 4:30 pm: Douglas Library - A caller reported he left
his bicycle in the front interior entrance of the library and returned to
discover it had been stolen sometime between 1:30 and 4:30 pm. It is a
grey 21-speed Raleigh "big horn" mountain bike.
ATTEMPTED
THEFT:
July 20, 6:30 am: John Orr Tower - Building staff reported
having chased off two suspicious men who were seen attempting to steal
bicycles from the bike racks outside.
The suspects were described as:
- a tall, slim man in his 30s with dark hair and a mustache. He was
riding an older style bicycle.
- a shorter man with a mustache, brown hair, and scars on his face. He
was riding a sporty yellow bicycle.
July 1, 11:05 pm: An Clachan Complex - A tenant contacted the
ERC to report seeing two suspicious teenage males loitering around one of the
exterior bike racks. Security staff dispatched to the area but a
thorough search did not locate the individuals.
VEHICLE
BREAK-IN:
July 9, 2:00 pm: West Campus - The ERC received a report that a
vehicle had been broken into while parked at a West Campus lot. The back right
window of its soft top cover was slashed but nothing was immediately noticed
missing from the interior.
July 4, 7:00 am: West Campus - While conducting a mobile patrol of
West Campus, Security discovered a vehicle had been broken into. A
number of items were scattered around the interior and a large rock, thrown
through the passenger window, was also still inside. The owner contacted
Campus Security a short time later and was provided with assistance in filing
a report with Kingston City Police. It was later reported only a pack of
cigarettes was stolen from the console inside.
THEFT
/ BREAK-IN (QUEEN'S PROPERTY):
July 2, 9:06 am: Student Housing Area - The ERC was informed
that a Student organization had their offices broken into at a location near
main campus. Both Security and KPD were informed to attend and it was
determined only a small amount of cash had been stolen, although many office
doors were damaged and required replacement.
