ARCHIVE: December 2009

THEFT (PERSONAL PROPERTY):

December 16. 10:24 pm: Campus - A student reported her black TMA bag containing a laptop computer was stolen between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm that day while left unattended outside the exam room she was in.

December 16, 5:45 pm: Campus - A student reported his black NexTech backpack was stolen sometime between 2:00pm and 5:00pm that day while it left unattended in the hallway while he wrote an exam. It contained a grey Acer Aspire 5570 laptop computer, a Koodo LG Keybo cell phone, as well as textbooks and other items. A report was also filed with Kingston City Police.

December 15, 4:15 pm: Campus - A student reported their backpack, containing a MacBook Pro, was stolen while left unattended outside an exam. He also filed a report with Kingston City Police.

December 12, 12:15 pm: Campus - A student reported her Puma brand shoulder bag was stolen while left unattended in the hallway outside an exam. A report was also filed with Kingston City Police.

December 6, 00:45 am: Residences - The ERC was informed two rooms in a Residence were entered, while left unlocked and unoccupied, and three laptop computers & a cell phone were stolen.  An unknown student age male carrying a large backpack was seen in the vicinity around the time of the theft, but not actually witnessed entering the rooms. Reports were also filed with Kingston City Police.

The items stolen were described as:

  • Tan colored 17" HP Pavillion laptop - serial # CND914OL15

  • Black Acer laptop with a tan colored keyboard

  • Silver Macbook Pro with a purple hard shell case

  • Nokia 6301 cell phone with "Fido" written on the back


SUSPICIOUS PERSONS / ACTIVITY:

December 16, 2:25 pm: Campus - Exams staff reported earlier seeing three males and a female loitering around some backpacks left outside an exam hall. The individuals, student age or a bit older, were asked to leave and were seen leaving the building. Exam proctors in other areas of campus were informed of the incident as well as library security staff.


FIRE ALARM (MALICIOUS):

December 8, 6:51 pm: Gordon Brockington House - Campus Security and KFD attended a fire alarm in the Residence and soon discovered a detector had activated when someone lit papers on fire inside an elevator.


BICYCLE / BIKE PARTS THEFT:

December 5, 3:00 pm: Victoria Hall - A student reported his dark blue CCM Targa bicycle (hybrid bike w. straight handle bars and mountain bike wheels) was stolen sometime within the past few days.
