THEFT (QUEEN'S PROPERTY):

May 29, Campus - Staff reported two laptop computers were stolen sometime during the past two weeks. The first is a Dell Latitude E5500 (serial # JRV0TK1) and the other is a brown & silver color Toshiba Netbook NB200.


BREAK & ENTER (OFF CAMPUS):

May 25, 7:30 pm: Student Housing Area - A caller reported that an unknown male entered their house last night through an unlocked door at approximately 10:30 pm. The intruder was described as in his early to late 30s, between 6' and 6'3" tall, with a medium build, dark hair, and wore glasses. He fled the house when he encountered one of the tenants. Kingston Police were notified and attended to investigate the scene.

May 21, 10:25 am: Student Housing Area - The ERC was informed that a house near main campus was broken into sometime during the previous night - likely at around 5 am, when one of the housemates heard a noise.  The thief stole an iPod dock and possibly a bicycle.  An attempt was also made to steal a flat screen TV, which was found wrapped in a table cloth in the back yard.  Kingston Police were notified and attended to investigate the scene.

If you encounter anyone engaged in suspicious behaviour off-campus - please contact the Kingston Police at 613-549-4660 or by calling 911; on campus - please contact the Emergency Report Centre immediately at 613-533-6111.

Campus Security advise residents to ensure their doors and windows are locked at all times, to be diligent about personal safety, and immediately phone police if you observe any suspicious persons or activity.

Students should consider insurance coverage for their homes and apartments. Some home insurance policies will provide coverage for a student away at college or university--check with your parents to see if their policy provides this type of coverage and what the limitations are.


BICYCLE / BIKE PARTS THEFT:

May 27, 3:20 pm: Robert Sutherland Hall - The ERC received a report that a blue & white Trek 4300 bicycle was stolen sometime during that afternoon. A report was also filed with Kingston City Police. 

May 23, 2:30 pm: Goodes Hall - A caller reported that his bicycles was stolen from where it had been secured on the north side of Gooes Hall, sometime between 8:20 and 10;00 am.  It is a black & grey color specialized Hard Rock model bike with after-market substitutions that include "city slicks" and a GT seat. Kingston Police were also notified of the theft.

May 22, 8:08 pm: School of Kinesiology - Campus Security received a report that a bicycle was stolen from where it had been secured to the south side bike racks between noon and 7:00 pm.  It is a red Diamond Back bike that has a rear fender with blue and red tape on it. A report was also filed with Kingston City Police. 

May 18, 4:19 pm: Dupuis Hall - A student reported his red & white Mountain Bike (with new style shocks and brakes) was stolen from where it had been secured to the bicycle racks between 9:20 am and 4:19 pm that day. A report was also filed with Kingston City Police. (photo)
