Following the trend of University Police and Security Departments in the United States, Queen's Campus Security is proud to announce the purchase of a new Boeing X2 helicopter: a five seat commuter helicopter available in the U.S. since 1997. |

| As a result of recent budget cutbacks, Queen's Campus Security decided to seek out new forms of revenue. In March 2002 we formed a partnership with Paramount Studios to display banners advertising their upcoming features to the Queen's community. As student demographics are highly valued by the movie industry, the initial payment was such that Campus Security has purchased a helicopter to compliment the existing security vehicle. This acquisition will greatly increase our ability to provide security and safety services to the Queen's community. | |||
This acquisition will allow our department to respond to incidents at West Campus and elsewhere much faster than is possible using only the current Security vehicle. It's five seating capacity also enables rapid transportation from those areas and main campus to nearby Kingston General Hospital when medical treatment is required.
