Security Advisory Council Terms of Reference
To review, advise, assist and provide Queen’s community input into the planning, implementation and evaluation of security policies, procedures, educational programs and services in order to establish and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for faculty, staff, students and visitors at Queen’s.
Council membership will be either by standing or rotational appointment as indicated below. Standing members may attend themselves or appoint a delegate. Rotational members will be nominated by the member organization. The Vice Principal, Operations and Finance will appoint a Chair. The Director of Security will be an ex-officio member of the Council. Other security staff may be invited to attend meetings to present information. The secretary will produce minutes of each meeting. Meetings will be normally be held each quarter, or more frequently if required by particular circumstances.
Town/Gown Coordinator, University Advisor on Equity, Director - International Center, Director of Human Rights, Director of Residences, Director of Apartments and Housing, Dean of Student Affairs, Director of Physical Plant, Director of Environmental Health and Safety, West Campus Representative, Director of Security (ex-officio), Secretary – Campus Security Departmental Assistant (ex-officio)
Staff Association, Faculty Association, Society of Graduate and Professional Students, Student Constables, Alma Mater Society, Up to two Guest Members for specific meetings as issues dictate.
