The following awards have been made available thanks to the generosity of Queen's donors.
Students who are currently registered at Queen's University can apply for the following awards. Students will be notified by either the Student Awards Office or their Faculty if they have been selected for an award.
Established by Susan Nelles Pine, B.N.Sc. '78, a courageous and devoted pediatric nurse, in memory of her father James Nelles, Meds. '50 and her brother David Nelles, Meds. '78. James and David Nelles were dedicated pediatricians. This scholarship is awarded to a student with an interest in parent-child nursing entering the fourth year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science program on the basis of academic excellence in Nursing 370 (Family-Centred Nursing Care) and a pass in Nursing 371 (Practicum in Family-Centred Nursing Care). Application is made by letter to the Awards Committee of the School of Nursing and should outline one's interest in this field. Deadline for application for the award is April 30.
Established by Mrs. Marian Campbell, B.N.Sc. 1949, to honour the memory of Dorothy Riches, the first Director of the School of Nursing, Queen's University, from 1946 to 1949. Awarded to a student with an interest and high standing in psychiatric/mental health nursing entering the fourth year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science program. Application is made by letter to the Awards Committee of the School of Nursing and should outline one's interest in this field. One letter of reference is required. Deadline for application is 30 April.
