Still waters run deep

Sundée has been fortunate to enjoy a working life in various areas of interest and passion: hospitality and eco/special-interest travel; 25 years creating and running a pottery studio and gallery; and, now, over a decade in marine conservation outreach and education. 

The latter has opened the door to connect with Queen's again by providing teacher practicum placement opportunities for the past two years for Queen's Ed/ConEd students seeking experience in alternate learning environments. As an active board member, Sundée has led the development of a registered charity, Dolphin Quest Conservation Foundation, which focuses on cetacean conservation, with the goal to expand on current Bermuda/Atlantic-related research and educational and career path opportunities. 

The charity will host a fall 2027 Canadian Maritimes tour following the annual humpback whale migration (past Bermuda, up to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick). Part of the proceeds will support these research projects and education/internship programs. 

The Queen's Practicum program is offered in the spring (March), so interested and eligible students are encouraged to contact Sundée in advance to learn about this customized three-week teaching practicum or the year-round, three-month marine mammal internships, which are open to international students. 

Sundée would also love to reconnect with past friends.

Rosemary, an Emerita Scientia Professor of International Law at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney and Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the King's Birthday Honours List, 2026, for significant services to tertiary education and to international and environmental law.

Shweta and Alex recently got engaged on a vacation in the South of France! They first met at Queen's and worked together on the Queen's Marketing Association Conference. They currently reside in New York City and are working for FanDuel and the NBA, respectively.

After returning from UN duty on Cyprus in 1964, Steve was accepted by Queen's as a mature student on probationary sufferance. All the rest is readily available online: an MA in Renaissance Literature and Drama from the University of Victoria, and D.Phil at the University of York (U.K.). In May 2026 Steve received the D.Litt., "honouring your substantial and original contributions to knowledge." Vanitas vanitatis. He is grateful to Queen's for taking a chance on a career Canadian Infantry soldier with an unpromising past.
