Part Time Office Assistant BFA

Casual Part-time Job Opportunity
The Department is looking for a casual, part-time office assistant for a period of not more than 6 months duration.

Start date is as soon as possible.


Key Responsibilities include:

Act as primary contact and liaison for the Fine Art (Visual Art) Program.
Provide administrative support to the Department Manager and Head; correspondence/email; scheduling Program meetings and conferences; and event planning. 
Provide key administration support to the undergraduate program, including recruitment, admissions, enrolment, and degree completion; ensure student flies are maintained.
Advise undergraduate students on policies, procedures, and regulations. Coordinate academic counselling for undergraduate students regarding degree requirements and course selection.  
Process completion forms for undergraduate students; ensure degree requirements have been met.
Process plan and course registration approvals for undergraduate students.
Provide reports and statistics for the Director and Undergraduate Chair regarding trends in registration; recommend changes to policies and procedures as appropriate; coordinate processing of curriculum decisions and related calendar changes.
Collect and submit timetable Information to the Office of the University Registrar; register students in courses; set up student files.
Liaise with Physical Plant Services, IT Support Services, and vendors and contractors as required.
Maintain security and access protocols.
Other duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications should include:


Familiarity with the university environment, and organizational structure
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to interpret regulations and degree requirements and convey this information accurately to students, combined with a demonstrated ability to interact professionally with a variety of individuals at various levels of the organization and in various contexts
Advanced computer skills and experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PeopleSoft, Solus, and various database programs
Satisfactory Criminal Record  Check
