This community of practice is an open space for educators across the university to come together around one central theme: the rise of generative AI. We will talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly!
We meet monthly to explore what this moment means for how we teach, how students learn, and how we design meaningful educational experiences. Each gathering centers on a theme, but our agenda is shaped by what matters most to us, and those priorities can shift as the conversations evolve.
Come to the sessions that resonate with you, skip the ones that don't, bring a friend and the questions you're genuinely sitting with.
Members are also warmly encouraged to propose and lead conversations. If something is on your mind— maybe a challenge you're navigating, an experiment you've tried, an article you’re drafting, or a tension you can't quite resolve — this is a good place to bring it.
The goal is simple: to think better together.

There are four stages of Generative AI: training, input, analysis, and output. Each of these stages raise a number of copyright questions: is training AI within the scope of fair dealing? What content can and shouldn't be inputted to mainstream AI tools and "walled gardens"? Are prompts protected by copyright? Is AI-generated output protected by copyright? And are moral rights being respected?
This presentation will answer these questions and provide best practices for training and using AI.
