Teaching dossier (noun) ˈtēCHiNG/ˈdôsēˌā,ˈdäsēˌā/: a curated portfolio that showcases your teaching values, experiences, and accomplishments. It is a dynamic document that evolves as you gain more teaching experiences and reflect on your pedagogical strengths.

This workshop is designed for educators who are in the process of updating their teaching dossiers for renewal, tenure/continuing appointment and promotion. Participants will explore the essential components of an effective teaching dossier, learn strategies for documenting and showcasing their teaching effectiveness, and develop a clear action plan for assembling materials that demonstrate their commitment to pedagogical excellence.

During this session we will focus on three essential action items to undertake while updating your dossier:

  • Revisiting your teaching philosophy
  • Collecting evidence of teaching effectiveness
  • Articulating your teaching innovation and impact

Pre-Session Action Item:

For this working session to be successful, please review the materials on the CTL’s Teaching Dossier webpage, especially the elements of a teaching dossier template.
