Eastern Ontario Network Staff Members

Dr. David Barber BSc, MD, CCFP | Director

Dr. Barber is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s University. He is a physician, Chair of the Information Management Committee, Long Term Care Lead and the EON Director.

Dr. Barber's research interests are focused around Electronic Medical Records and strengthening the study of Canadian Primary Health Care.

Rebecca Theal | Research Associate

Rebecca Theal is the Research Associate for EON. Since starting with EON at the end of 2020, Rebecca has supported multiple projects related to primary health care and EMR data.

Rebecca attended McGill University for her MSc in Experimental Medicine and has a background in mental health research.

Data Manager | Lorne Kinsella

As the EON Local Area Data Manager, Lorne is responsible for the collection of EMR data from Primary Care Physicians in Kingston and the surrounding area. Lorne is tasked with the extraction, processing, cleaning, and uploading of EMR data into a central data repository and facilitating the development of query/reporting tools for use with the Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN) data repository for research purposes.

Lorne brings over 25 years of  IT consulting experience developing a wide variety of database end-user applications for public and private sector clients. He has a Diploma from St. Lawrence College in Data Processing - Business Administration and is a certified PowerBuilder Developer.

Jodie Lees | Project Coordinator

As the EON Project Coordinator, Jodie oversees the recruitment of new healthcare providers and EON research projects. Jodie has an MSc in International Business and Management from the University of Manchester and has a background in project management and program development.

In addition to providing project management support for EON, Jodie also works on the POPLAR Network project, as well as and conducting research for the Health Services and Policy Research Institute at Queen's University.
