Queen’s staff, faculty, and student leaders are encouraged to attend an upcoming virtual session about the university’s financial position and outlook.

The Financial Information Forum will be held on Teams on October 15, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and attendees will hear directly from senior leaders following the Board of Trustees’ approval of Queen’s 2025–26 Audited Financial Statements.

The forum will feature opening remarks from Patrick Deane, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, and updates from Donna Janiec, Vice-Principal (Finance and Administration) and Matthew Evans, Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic). The session will provide an overview of the university’s overall financial situation, with a focus on the figures presented in the audited financial statements, as well as progress in improving the university’s operating budget position.

“Our Bicentennial Vision sets high ambitions for academic excellence, research impact, and the student experience. Financial stability helps us to protect and advance those priorities,” says Principal Deane. “Queen’s is in a stronger financial position thanks to the efforts of staff, faculty, and leaders across the university but at the same time, significant financial pressures remain and we must continue to manage resources carefully.”

In order to attend the forum, staff, faculty, and student leaders are required to register in advance. Attendees can submit questions in advance when registering or type their questions during the event for consideration in the moderated Q&A.

This is the second session of new bi-annual financial updates. The first was held in June 2026 and was attended by more than 400 staff and faculty members.
