October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and Queen’s is marking it with a new round of its CyberSmart campaign. University life relies on digital tools and information, from course materials and research data to everyday communications. Good cybersecurity habits help protect these resources and the people who use them.

Students, faculty, and staff can explore a different topic each week:

• Week of Oct. 5: Multi-factor authentication
• Week of Oct. 12: Phishing
• Week of Oct. 19: Protecting your online identity and browsing safely
• Week of Oct. 26: Reporting cybersecurity incidents

Instructions, activities, and a quiz for each topic will be posted on the CyberSmart webpage at the beginning of its week. Participants who score 100 per cent on a weekly quiz qualify to enter a prize draw.
