Josh White

M.PL. '07 – City of Vancouver Chief Planner

​Josh enrolled at SURP following an undergraduate a Honours B.A. at the University of Toronto majoring in Urban Studies and Political Science. At SURP, his work focused on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy and implementation. His Master's Report evaluated and envisioned a TOD plan for the Anderson LRT Station in Calgary.

Upon graduating, Josh started as an Urban Planner at Urban Strategies in Toronto. There his focus continued on TOD planning and policy creation, including developing the Brentwood Station Area Redevelopment Plan in Calgary as well as the Durham Region Ontario TOD Strategy.

In 2010, Josh then joined the Office of Mayor of Calgary where he was a Senior Policy Advisor. This included a core portfolio of planning, development, housing and transportation issues. He is currently the City of Vancouver Chief Planner.

Krishon Walker

M.PL. '19 – City of Ottawa Planner I

Krishon Walker is a Planner with the City of Ottawa, working within the Economic Development Services team. He leads the City’s High Economic Impact Projects Program, supporting initiatives aligned with Ottawa’s economic strategy and city-building goals. His portfolio includes projects like Lansdowne 2.0, Nokia Canada’s Campus redevelopment, uOttawa’s Advanced Medical Research Centre and the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel. Prior to joining the City, Krishon worked in the accounting and finance sectors. He is a Registered Professional Planner (OPPI), Full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). 

Pamela Sweet

M.PL. '78 – SweetPlans, Ottawa, former CIP President

Pamela Sweet is a well-known and highly respected member of the planning community across Canada. She has over 43 years of extensive experience in land use planning, policy development, urban design, project management and public consultation. From 2001 to 2017, she was senior vice-president of FOTENN Consultants, one of Ontario’s largest planning and design firms. From 1989 to 2000, as Director of Policy and Infrastructure Planning for the Region of Ottawa-Carleton, she was responsible for the preparation, monitoring and implementation of the Region’s Official Plan, Transportation Master Plan, and Water and Wastewater Master Plans. 

She has been the project leader for a variety of public- and private-sector projects across Canada, has served as president of the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), and has been honoured with the appointment as Fellow of CIP. She holds an Honours BA in Geography from Carleton University and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Queen’s University. 

Inge Roosendaal

M.PL. '02 – Senior Planner, Ottawa Public Health

Registered Professional Planner (RPP, MCIP) with expertise at the intersection of public health, planning, and public policy in the municipal context. My work focuses on how the policies, systems, and decisions that shape communities influence health and wellbeing, and on integrating health considerations into municipal planning and policy processes. I am particularly interested in healthy public policy, healthy built environments, systems thinking, and the role of planning in supporting healthy, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities. This includes advancing and applying frameworks such as the 15-minute neighbourhood to help create more connected, walkable, equitable and complete communities. Much of my work involves connecting public health, planning, policy, and practice, bringing together perspectives that are often considered separately to address complex challenges and create healthier outcomes for people and communities. 

Lindsay Allman

M.PL. '18 – Planner III, Westbank First Nation

I am currently employed by Westbank First Nation as a Planner III. My main planning interests include housing policy and development, intergenerational livability, accessible & active transportation, and healthy community planning. I am interested in community-based approaches to planning.

I am an alumni of Queen's University's School of Urban and Regional Planning (2018 M.Pl.) and Brock University's Concurrent Education program (2016 B.A. Hons. and B.Ed. graduate).

Cian O'Neill-Kizoff

M.PL. '25 – Project Manager, Government of Yukon

Civil engineer and planner with multidisciplinary experience in infrastructure, community development, climate hazards, and facilitation. I currently focus on strategic decision-making related to climate risk and resilience, helping northern and Indigenous communities clarify priorities and develop practical, long-term solutions.

Drawing on a broad technical foundation, I bring a systems perspective to complex challenges and enjoy working across disciplines to connect infrastructure, land use, community health, and climate adaptation.

Steve Willis

M.PL. '92 – Senior Principal, Stantec, former VP NCC, Former Chief Planner, City of Ottawa

Stephen Willis is a Senior Principal in the Canadian Community Development team, and the Sector Lead for Federal Projects for the Infrastructure business line.  Steve is a Registered Professional Planner with over 30 years professional experience in consulting and in the various public sector roles.  

He specializes in building consensus for complex projects involving approvals from multiple agencies. Steve was described by a former leader as a "Relentless Problem Solver." Over the course of his career, he has specialized in the planning and redevelopment of lands for public agencies.  He also has extensive municipal/federal land use, environmental, housing and infrastructure policy development experience.

Cassandra Caiger

M.PL. '13 – Principal, Intelligent Futures Inc.

As the Principal responsible for operations, Cassandra leads the Intelligent Futures team in the delivery of projects and provides leadership to clients on an incredibly diverse range of change processes. An empathic listener, she has the ability to put people at ease, encouraging them to hear and be heard. In the first decade of her career, Cassandra received the Canadian Institute of Planners President’s Award for Young Planners in recognition of her work in community building.

Shahida Hoque

M.PL. '22 – Adequate Housing Specialist, United Nations Habitat Canada

Urban development professional with over six years of experience spanning architecture, urban planning, housing, and international development. Experienced in integrating research, policy, design, and project implementation to advance sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities. Holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Queen’s University and an MA in Development Studies and Diplomacy from the University for Peace.

Currently serving as an Adequate Housing Specialist with UN-Habitat, leading and contributing to research, policy development, project coordination, and implementation initiatives that advance the right to adequate housing and sustainable urban development.
