Corporate Scholarships
The Toronto Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) Real Estate Scholarships are intended to encourage female students to enter the Canadian commercial real estate industry after graduation. The scholarships are valued at up to $3,000 each and may be awarded to full-time female students entering the final year of the Queen's M.PL. program. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding potential, interest in the commercial real estate field, and must specialize in Land Use and Real Estate Development in their second and final year of study.

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtor (SIOR) Canada Central Chapter Scholarships are granted to students in certificate- or degree-granting programs in real estate offered by accredited professional societies, trade schools, colleges, and universities.

OPPI Awards
The Ontario Professional Planners Institute supports the next generation of professional planners through its scholarship and bursary program. These awards recognize student members who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to advancing the planning profession. The program includes scholarships that celebrate excellence in planning education and research, as well as bursaries designed to help reduce financial barriers for students pursuing planning studies in Ontario.
The 2026 Claire Basinski Chair Scholarship is a one-time award recognizing a graduate student member who has demonstrated leadership in the field of integrated mobility planning, with particular emphasis on engagement practices. This scholarship is to be awarded exclusively in 2026 in honour of the past OPPI Chair, Claire Basinski, RPP.
The Gerald Carrothers Graduate Scholarship assists in furthering planning education and recognize student members who are making a contribution to their communities. Applicants must be members of OPPI at the time of application and the recipient must be enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate planning program in Ontario. An OPPI Scholarship of $2,500 is available to eligible student members in this category.

The Ronald M. Keeble Undergraduate Scholarship assists in furthering planning education and recognize student members who are making a contribution to their communities. Applicants must be members of OPPI at the time of application and the recipient must be enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate planning program in Ontario. An OPPI Scholarship of $2,000 is available to eligible student members in this category.

This scholarship recognizes undergraduate or graduate planning students who face systemic barriers to education and actively contribute to their communities. This award reflects OPPI’s commitment to expanding equitable access to the planning profession and reducing barriers faced by individuals from Indigenous and/or equity-deserving communities.
This new award recognizes undergraduate or graduate student members whose research advances diversity, equity, inclusion, reconciliation, or social justice in planning. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Reconciliation, and Social Justice (DEI-RSJ) reflects OPPI’s commitment to building a planning profession and organization that is fair, inclusive, and responsive to the people and communities of Ontario. It acknowledges the full range of human diversity, including race, Indigeneity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status, culture, and lived experience, as well as the ways these identities intersect.
Beginning in 2026, OPPI is thrilled to announce a new bursary program, designed to support planning students who can demonstrate significant financial need.
CIP Awards
Each year, the CIP/ICU Planning Student Trust Fund (CIP-PSTF) offers scholarships and bursaries to CIP student members who are enrolled full-time in accredited Canadian planning programs. In Canada, programs are accredited by the Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada (PSB) and l’Ordre des urbanistes du Québec (OUQ).
The CIP-PSTF Outstanding Graduating Student Award is bestowed upon one graduating student from each accredited planning program (undergraduate and postgraduate) in Canada, who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to their future profession. This contribution may be assessed through a wide range of contributing factors, including academic and extracurricular contributions.
Awarded annually to a graduate of the M.PL. program who has the highest academic average in the graduating class, and who has completed the degree requirements in no more than three years as a full-time student and not more than five years as a part-time student. On recommendation of the selection committee, the Director of the School of Urban and Regional Planning will nominate the candidate to CIP. The candidate must be a member of CIP. The award will consist of a CIP certificate and a book prize. The awardee will be selected in October from the graduates making the degree lists for the spring or fall convocations in the same calendar year.

Scholarships are awarded for student projects (by one student or a small team) that best demonstrate excellence and a potential contribution to the planning profession (in theory or practice), or a potential service to a community or community group. In addition to their funding, scholarship recipients receive a certificate and digital badge.
Bursaries are awarded to students who are in need of financial assistance to support their education. In addition to their funding, bursary recipients receive a certificate, and a digital badge.
NCC Competition
The NCC Urban Design Challenge is an annual ideas competition for students from across Canada. Participants were invited to develop innovative planning and design ideas for a selected area in the National Capital Region. Each year, students are invited to submit proposals based on that years designated challenge.
The winning project team will receive a first-place award of $3,000 and a trip to Ottawa. The second-place team will receive an award of $2,000. The jury may determine honourable mention awards as well. There are no monetary prizes associated with these awards.
