About Gillian
Gillian received her B.Sc. (Specialization) in Geological Sciences in 2020 from Queen’s University and is currently a M.Sc. candidate under the supervision of Dr. Peir Pufahl. As an undergraduate student Gillian completed an international exchange semester at the University of Aberdeen where she completed her B.Sc. honours thesis under the supervision of Dr. Alex Brasier in the winter of 2019. Gillian has worked as a research assistant in the Queen’s Facility for Isotope Research (QFIR) and as part of the science outreach organization Traveling Geologist. During her Master’s Gillian is studying the sedimentology and geochemistry of the Rhynie Chert, which is a world-renowned deposit of northeast Scotland that contains an unparalleled record of early vascular plant evolution.
