History Career Panel and Networking Event

Location
Robert Sutherland Hall (School of Policy Studies) Room 202

The History Department and GHSA are hosting a career panel and networking event on Thursday Nov 9, 11:30am-1:00pm in Robert Sutherland Hall Room 202. Local professionals working in public history, heritage, and museums will be answering questions about their careers and how to find jobs in these sectors.

We are excited to welcome  Mathew Thivierge (Museum Manager and Curator of the Frontenac County Schools Museum), Jamie Mckenzie-Naish (Managing Director of Kingston and Area Association of Museums, Art Galleries, and Historic Sites), Michelle Clarabut (Programs and Communications Manager of the Great Lakes Museum), and Ashlyn Gregory (Collections Intern for the Frontenac County Schools Museum.

Our panelists will give you an insight into the opportunities in the industry, important skills to have, and offer some advice to those looking to join the field.

Following the panel, students will have the chance to network with the panelists and each other. This is a great chance to learn more about local history and heritage organizations, museums, and heritage sites and the many opportunities they have available for students.

History graduate students and 3rd/4th year undergraduate History students are invited to attend this event.
