Rebecca completed her B.Ed. as an Intermediate/Senior History and English teacher, which provided her with the knowledge and experience that has shaped her own teaching practice. She completed her M.A. on the subject of Al Capone's criminal organization and the public perception of gangsters in the 1920s and 30s. Rebecca has since shifted her focus to Canadian history and, under the supervision of Professor Brison, she is presently interested in the role played by an infamous criminal act and manhunt in shaping perceptions of the Canadian north.
