Under the supervision of Dr. Ariel Salzmann, my research examines the political parallels and inter-state relationships of two “new nation-states” created after WWI: Poland and Turkey.
The goal of my research is to establish how experiences of the global and regional order and the struggle to build new nation-states created not merely parallel but mutually influenced ideas about the role of the state, the nature of national identity, the limits of minority protections, and the positionality of each with respect to multinational organizations, particularly the League of Nations.
