In December 2014, federal, provincial and territorial governments began negotiations to strengthen and modernize the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT). They were guided by direction from premiers and the federal government to secure an ambitious, balanced and equitable agreement that would level the playing field for trade and investment in Canada. The new Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) resulted from these negotiations, entering into force on July 1st, 2017. It commits governments to a comprehensive set of rules that will help achieve a modern and competitive economic union for all Canadians. |

| Consultant & Contractor Expenses |
With the introduction of the Broader Public Sector Expenses Directive on April 1, 2011 certain expenses are no longer allowable for Consultants and Contractors doing work for Queen's University. In no circumstances can hospitality, incidental or food expenses be considered allowable expenses for consultants and contractors in any contract between Queen's University and a Supplier under the rules of the Broader Public Sector Expenses Directive 2011 (Ontario), sections 4.6 and 5F. Therefore, suppliers cannot claim or be reimbursed for such expenses, including:
