Student Wellness Services is running a combined Flu Shot and COVID-19 Booster Clinic for all staff and faculty members at Queen's University. 

The clinic will operate on a walk-in basis only. No appointments necessary. All vaccines are free of charge and completely voluntary. 

Why get vaccinated? Influenza and COVID-19 have significant impact on our campus community. Getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of flu and COVID-19 and protect the health and well-being of our community. 

Important info:

  • You may choose to get one vaccine and not the other 
  • Please bring your Health card

Identifying & Responding to Someone in Distress (Mental Health Training)

The purpose of this session is to help students, staff and faculty recognize when someone is struggling with their mental health and what to do to support them.  Participants will learn about the dual continuum model for mental health and be given strategies to help someone who is in immediate distress and/or in crisis. Practical tips on what to say and do will be discussed so participants leave the session knowing how to connect someone with the appropriate resources.

At the end of this training, participants will:

  • Gain mental health literacy skills
  • Be able to recognize when someone is in distress
  • Know steps to take to help someone with a mental health problem
  • Discover what mental health resources exist on campus and in the community

Caring for Present & Future You (Mental Health Training)

The purpose of this workshop is to give participants a chance to understand and appreciate health from a holistic lens. Participants will reflect on what they are currently doing and learn evidence-based practices to proactively take care of themselves and approaches to managing stress. During the session, participants will learn how to create an action plan that they can implement easily into their current habits.

Party-Goer Harm Reduction Kit Distribution

The Peer Health Educator Substance Use Team will be running the annual FREE Party-Goer Kit & Naloxone kit distribution with all the items you need to have a safer Homecoming. While you're there, meet campus partners like COR, Queen's First Aid, SHRC & more. All happening at the Rose Event Commons in Mitchell Hall on October 19th at 2:00pm. 

No registration necessary, come early, while supplies last!

Sexual & Mental Health Information Session for International Students

Are you an international student who would like to learn more about sexuality, gender identity, sexual health and mental health in Canada? Please come on October 4th, 2023, from 12:00pm-1:00pm for a free virtual information session hosted by the Ontario HIV Treatment Network and HQ Toronto.

The International Student Project addresses the unique needs of international students, who often experience challenges when they come to Ontario related to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, substance use, mental health and connecting with local communities. This upcoming town hall will provide these students with local resources to assist them as they begin their academic and career journeys in Canada.
