Art History Undergraduate Admission Plans

At the end of first year (level 1)

Art History General, Major, or Minor Plan:

  • A minimum grade of C- (1.6) in 6 unites of ARTH 1xx (usually ARTH 120, or 116* and 117* at Herstmonceux Castle).

Art History Medial Plan:

  • A minimum grade of C- (1.6) in 6 unites of ARTH 1xx (usually ARTH 120, or 116* and 117* at Herstmonceux Castle), and acceptance by both departments.

At the end of second year (level 2)

For admission to an Art History General, Major, or Minor Plan:

  • A minimum GPA of 1.6 in 6 units of ARTH 1xx and 12 units of 200-level Art History courses.


For admission to an Art History Medial Plan:

  • A minimum GPA of 1.6 in 6 units of ARTH 1xx and 12 units of 200-level Art History courses, and acceptance by both departments.

At the end of third year (level 3)

For admission to an Art History Major Plan:

A minimum GPA of 2.6 in 24.0 units of Art History courses
For admission to an Art History Minor Plan:

A minimum GPA of 1.6 in 6 units of ARTH 1xx and 12 units of 200-level Art History courses
For admission to an Art History Medial Plan:

A minimum GPA of 2.6 in 24.0 units of Art History courses, and acceptance by both departments
