In Modern Arts in a Globalizing World, you’ll explore how modern art became a global phenomenon, shaped by migration, empire, revolution, technology, and cultural exchange. Follow artists and movements as they crossed borders, challenged traditions, and reimagined modern life across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and beyond. In this class, you’ll learn how modern art and its related movements transformed cultures worldwide, and how global forces, in turn, transformed modern art.
