Funds for Art Conservation

Art Conservation Trust

Your gifts to this fund support the Art Conservation program in running its day-to-day operations. Queen's offers the only Master's degree program in art conservation in Canada. Art conservation involves the examination, interpretation, analysis, and conservation of cultural, historic, and artistic objects. Professional conservators rely on their knowledge of both the humanities and sciences in order to understand the creation and production of material culture in past and present contexts to ensure its preservation for future generations. Our students specialize in the conservation of paintings, artifacts, or paper objects.

Art Conservation Student Travel Fund

The Art Conservation Student Travel Endowment Fund assists Art Conservation students with their travel expenses for research and training. Students regularly need to visit the Canada Conservation Institute and museums in Ottawa, Toronto, and Montréal, and also travel to the annual North American conference of Art Conservation Students. Additionally, students are required to take up summer internships, for which they travel all over the world.

Textile Conservation Fund

Your gifts to this fund, which was established through a donation from Dr. Isabel Bader, will support the study and practice of textile conservation. The fund helps Art Conservation students take on summer internships in this specialization.
