Queen's University has a complex website environment. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) refines how Queen's websites show up and rank in organic search, for example, in Google Search.
In 2021, University Relations and the Digital Analytics Initiative identified SEO as a challenge on the Queen's website environment. As a result, they founded the cross-university SEO Working Group.
Goals
- Build SEO expertise
- Discuss and identify keyword topics and ownership
- Create a technological baseline for SEO
- Create SEO standards and best practices
Leadership and members
University Relations leads the SEO Working Group with participants from departments across Queen's.
The group meets every 4-6 weeks. It is open to all the admins of Queen's major marketing and communication websites. Its members contribute actively to discussions, projects and documents.
