As part of Queen’s commitment to ensuring an inclusive and accessible environment free of disability-related barriers, a consultation has begun on a new procedure meant to aid in the resolve of conflicts related to the provision of accommodations, when they arise. The consultation period ends on June 2, 2026.
The Dispute Resolution Procedure (DRP) is a multi-step mechanism designed for resolving matters relating to academic accommodation when parties cannot come to an agreement, and a satisfactory and timely outcome cannot be made through collaboration with appropriate parties and support units.
Queen’s students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to review the new procedure and are welcome to provide feedback. Comments can be sent to policies@queensu.ca until June 2 – please indicate ‘Dispute Resolution Procedure’ in the subject line of your email.
Additional information about the policy consultation and approval process is available on the University Secretariat website.
