Queen’s will welcome approximately 4,800 students to 18 residence buildings during move-in on Friday, Sept. 4 and Saturday, Sept. 5.
Parking restrictions and street closures will be in effect from 4:30 pm Friday until 5 pm Saturday. Affected streets include Queen’s Crescent, Bader Lane, Albert Street, Collingwood Street south of Union Street, and St. Lawrence Avenue.
University Avenue and Albert Street will carry southbound traffic only between Union and King streets. At University Avenue, Stuart Street and Bader Lane will be reserved for westbound move-in traffic. People coming to campus for other purposes who plan to be dropped off should arrange to do so outside this area.
Queen’s parking garages and campus lots will be unavailable for general parking, including to permit holders. Parking may be available in the upper lot in front of the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts or on streets north of Union Street, although these areas may be busy or full.
Some surface parking lots will also close intermittently for orientation activities through the first week of September. Signs will be posted in affected areas.
More information about street closures, traffic routes, and parking options is available on the move-in weekend parking and traffic impacts webpage.
