Each summer, Queen’s University hosts a wide range of enriching summer camps that are popular with children and families throughout the region, including camps run by student organizations, several faculties and departments, and Athletics and Recreation.

These in-person camps were cancelled last year as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and work is now underway to determine what may be possible for camps on campus this summer.

The university’s Risk and Safety Services team is leading this effort and is currently engaging with camp organizers across campus, as well as KFL&A Public Health, to determine what health and safety restrictions will likely be in place in July and August, and what impact these will have on our ability to host any sizeable gatherings of children and camp staff on campus.

No decisions have been made and it is the university’s intention to share more details as soon as possible to assist parents and caregivers, as well as campus partners, with planning for this year’s summer camp activity. These details will be posted on the Queen’s Summer Camps webpage, as well as the university’s social media channels when available. Questions can also be directed to the various camp organizations about what virtual options they may be considering if in-person camps are not available.
